Book 4: Chapter 22 “Gun Fight”
“Now that I know why I’m sick in the morning, the FTL jump makes me even more sick!!”
Admiral Lawson stood ramrod straight in CIC, fighting nature. She tried to force her hands to her side.
Deck officer: “Heavy jamming. Pretty thick.”
XO: “Increase power to the DRADIS array.”
Deck officer: “4 possible contacts no raiders yet!””
Admiral:”My guess is four or five gunships Nemesis mostly, no raiders. If we see backup,they may jump in later”
Deck officer: “Contacts! 4 confirmed. Gunship size. One or two show missiles ready. Most likely heavy!!!”
Static on the speaker: “Solaria actual. Launching all birds.”
Admiral:”Launch the air wing. Take up the anti missile picket position.”

Deck officer: “Firing solution high on the Revenant gunship!”
XO: “Topside guns track and free to fire! Ninety years old is still a very dangerous fire rate.”
Deck officer: “Splash one dangerous toaster!”

XO: “When I was a young boy, sometimes my parents wanted some time alone and they would send me to the movies. Months later, I had new brothers or sisters.
I kind of feel like that right now like I’ve been sent away to the movie so the parents can do something more important someplace else.
“Yea XO this is supposed to keep us busy. We have missed a pattern. Captain Miller is really good at that. Since I am on limited duty, how about you and some of the young folks take a look at all the traffic we have and look for patterns. Maybe a little computer system as well.”
XO: “We will go into the computer lab. Probably tons of data there.”

Deck Officer: “FTL is offline right now. Engineering says one of the actuators blew a power supply.”
XO: “Air wing is down. Enhanced Combat Air Patrol are in defense positions. The scope is clean. No major damage to either battlestar. Expedited repairs are underway in both pods. As far as supplies go, we did not even make a dent.”
Deck Officer: “Board is green, landing combat air patrol. All ships report ready to jump!”
